Valentine Krispie Treats

Valentine Krispie Treats made easy using strawberry heart marshmallows, garnished with your favorite candy and cut out with Valentine shaped cookie cutters. Simply SatedI’m trying so hard this morning. I’m trying to come up with something new to tell you about Valentine Krispie Treats. Try as I might, I can’t come up with one, single thing.

Maybe I’m having a difficult time because my brain is really focused on solving these universal questions.

  1. What exactly is in the mysterious stuff called “dark energy?”
  2. Are we alone in the universe?
  3. Is time-travel truly possible?
  4. How long can humans eventually live?
  5. What is the fate of our universe?

Hmmm?   I better concentrate on Valentine Krispie Treats for now.

Valentine Krispie Treats made easy using strawberry heart marshmallows, garnished with your favorite candy and cut out with Valentine shaped cookie cutters. Simply SatedHonestly, I can’t think of one thing we don’t all know, so I’ll reiterate what we do know.

  1. They are as crispy as they should be and not any crispier.
  2. They are coyly sweet, but not cloyingly sweet.
  3. They are easier to make than macarons.
  4. They are loved by everyone on the planet, almost, and those who don’t love them are just plain weird.
  5. They can be shaped into any item or landmark, i.e. bracelets, baby rattles, tiaras, octagons, Lady Gaga or even Big Ben.
  6. They can be your favorite color and become what you want them to be.
  7. They can be decorated with any sweet sprinkle or candy known to man.
  8. They are transportable. Zip them in a baggie, take them through the Sierra Dessert on a camel alongside Robert Redford and they will never crumble. If they melt, no worries!  Bob and you can stop at the next mirage stream you see, reshape the treats into water glasses and sip away.  Krispie treats never die!
  9. They can be covered in ooey, gooey, chocolate and other decadent toppings.
  10. They can be combined with many favorite foods and flavorings, i.e. peanut butter, strawberry, nutella, cookie butter, baking chips, coconut or crickets (if you so wish).
  11. They look adorable next to pink flowers and a vintage Valentine card.

Simply SatedSee, I told you I couldn’t think of even one new thing to tell you about Valentine Krispie Treats. Maybe if I go back to those all-time tricky universal questions I’ll have more success.

I’ve answered the top three, but now I’m stuck on Question No. 4.  Maybe Valentine Krispie Treats have something to do with it. If they can live forever, why can’t humans?

Wow!!  I just answered that unanswerable question.  The answer is so simple and makes total sense.  We all need to eat a ton of Rice Krispie Treats and, we too, will never die.

can I cook them on the stove like the original way. I don't like to microwave.

Absolutely Rose. I just discovered the microwave method and prefer to cook the marshmallows in that way, but these would work just as well cooked stovetop. Thanks for coming by today. I hope they turn out well for you.

I love your ponderings about the universe. What else can one say about Valentine's Day that hasn't already been said? So I'll just have to enjoy these tasty treats until I can think of something new to say too. :)
Creamy Chicken Soup. Tender chicken, aromatic vegetables and herbs, cream, a splash of wine topped with a touch of nutty Gruyere. The ultimate comfort food. Simply Sated
